ENVIT is a registered research institution at the Slovenian Research Agency. We invest in research and development of equipment and technological processes for soil treatment and rehabilitation. For this purpose, we cooperate on national and European research and development projects. We cooperate with numerous research institutions and universities. A special attention at the development of the remediation processes is dedicated to low energy, water and resources use.

We strive to carry out high quality services that are in line with international standards and respond quickly to changing market demands through continuous research, upgrading of existing and development of new technologies.

  • The use of new scientific discoveries and technologies in the process of assessing the degree of contamination, soil and sediment remediation and monitoring of remediation effects is becoming increasingly important. The environmental requirements are namely increasing and many technologies that had been in use until recently, have become environmentally unacceptable.

    Development and application of new solutions in not only important for the restoration of heavily polluted soils and sediments, which remediation and restoration was impossible until now. It is also a key to more sustainable and economically, socially and environmentally acceptable solutions. In many cases, existing technology can be upgraded and adapted to the specific situation of a given environment. In some cases, it is necessary to develop new technologies with higher efficiency and rational use of resources and energy, thereby reducing negative impacts on the environment.

    We carry out research and development projects in the area of:

    • Development of new technologies for remediation of soil,
    • Development of technologies of processing of hazardous wastes and sediments,
    • Upgrading of existing technologies of remediation of soil and treatment of hazardous wastes and sediments.
  • In accordance with the latest scientific findings on transfer and uptake of pollutants in the environment, i.e. humans, animals and plants, we follow new methods of determination of bioaccessibility of pollutants.

    There are various paths for pollutants to enter into organisms; therefore, we focus on development of methods for determination of bioaccessibility of pollutants entering into the organisms through:

    • Soil ingestion
    • Drinking of water
    • Food consumption
    • Inhalation of contaminated dust particles.

    In cooperation with the company ARHEL d.o.o. we have developed End-over-end rotator with precise temperature control MPB 1500, which is suitable for execution of in vitro extraction of biologically available metals from soils.
